Standard water heaters
A standard, single-family storage water heater offers a ready reservoir of hot water, from 20 to 80 gallons depending on the model. It operates by releasing hot water from the top of the tank when you turn on your hot water tap. To replace that hot water, cold water enters the bottom of the tank, ensuring that the tank is always full. Hi-efficiency power vented water heaters
At Empire Heating & Air Conditioning, our Power Vent water heaters are power vented for positive exhaust. They offer greater installation flexibility with the ability to vent through a wall or roof, with 2 “or 3″ PVC, ABS, or CPVC pipe. They also provide an increased amount of hot water available at a usable temperature in less time than standard water heaters. Power Direct Vent models are the solution to installations that lack sufficient air for combustion, and require installation flexibility. Tankless, on-demand water heaters
Tankless water heaters, also known as "instantaneous" water heaters, are suitcase-sized units that dispense hot water only when needed, by using an electric coil (typically for low demand) or natural gas (for high demand) to heat water passing through a heat exchanger inside.
